When I’m off duty...

You can find me riding round the streets of London on my fixed gear bike or at home catching up on the latest episode of Game of Thrones, or The Walking Dead, or Suits, or… Well, you get the idea!

I also enjoy a good night out with friends: eating, drinking and just having a laugh!

Rebecca Bailey

Senior PR & Marketing Executive

At work...

I joined the Egress Team in April 2013, having upped sticks and moved to the Big City in true Dick Whittington style. Prior to Egress, I worked for a publishing company in Stoke-on-Trent after graduating from York University with a degree in English Literature.

As Senior PR & Marketing Executive, I get to do a little bit of everything – whether that be dealing with internal and external communications and PR, or organising events and campaigns. One of my favourite parts of my job is managing this blog.

When I’m off duty...

I make a lot of cake. I also watch far too much TV and read every book I can lay my hands on – ranging from sci-fi and thrillers, to Jane Austen and Shakespeare. When I’m not in the kitchen or over-stimulating my mind, I love spending time with my friends, playing guitar and going running.

Business Development Manager

I joined the Egress Team in September 2012, and couldn’t have asked for a better company and Sales Team to become a part of. Having originally studied Law at the University of Hull, I found myself enthralled with the topic of IT security and personal information being put at risk.

As a Business Development Manager, I look after a number of regions within the UK, including the North West, West Midlands, Wales, and Yorkshire and Humberside. I’m heavily engaged with the channel but also work directly with customers. One of my favourite parts of my role is meeting with customers for the first time to understand their requirements and show how Egress can help. I suppose I am biased, but when you have such a good product to sell, you enjoy it more!

When I’m off duty...

I love to play netball. Having previously captained the England Netball Superleague and University First Team, I now play for a Division One team that remains undefeated. I also love to read an assortment of books; walk my Labrador, Miley; and cook. I am a massive home bird, and enjoy regular catch ups and dinners with my family and friends.

I was the first baby born on Christmas Day in South Africa in 1989. Best fact ever!

I am very fortunate to be working for a company with a genuinely innovative and leading-edge technology platform – it makes marketing our products and services so much easier!

When I’m off duty...

I love all things sport. Be it watching Spurs on the TV or taking part in a 10km run, I find it a great way to relax at the end of the day. I’m also a country lad at heart, so whenever the chance arises, I love nothing more than escaping the Big Smoke for fresh air and countryside.

The running bug is clearly taking hold. In October 2013 I ran / survived the Amsterdam marathon. Who knows, next stop might well be London!

At work...

I joined Egress in June 2013 after graduating from the University of Portsmouth. Following a stint in the Customer Service Department when I first joined, I moved over to the Development Team as a Junior Developer. Primarily, my role involves working on Egress Switch Secure Web Form projects, helping to continually develop them to deliver new functionality. Alongside this, I help with the development and implementation of advancements to our other existing products.

When I’m off duty...

When I’m not working, I usually like to fill my time with running (a long-term aspiration of mine has always been to run the London Marathon) visiting several of the indoor ‘Snowdomes’ around the UK to keep my snowboarding skills fresh and improve my freestyle techniques, and of course, spending time in London with my friends.

While not overly good at it, I’m a self-taught piano player and enjoy trying to learn piano compilations of some more modern songs (although there’s nothing wrong with some of the classics as well, from time to time!).

Technical Services Manager

At work...

I joined Egress in 2011, having completed a degree in Forensic Computing. Initially, my role was split between Quality Assurance and Support, which proved a great starting point and allowed me to learn the product range inside-out, whilst still maintaining contact with our customer base.

I now work as Technical Services Manager, heading up our team of technical engineers. This is great, as we work closely with existing and potential clients to ensure they get the best possible experience with Egress. My favourite part is the fact that no two customers are ever the same and every day is different.

When I’m off duty...

I’m a keen sportsman and play football every weekend. I also enjoy a round of golf – weather permitting! At home, I’m a bit of an animal lover and have a retired ex-racing greyhound to look after and take for walks. Whenever possible, I love eating out and spending time with family and friends.

When I’m off duty...

I can be found in the many museums and galleries that London has to offer – I aim for one museum or gallery a weekend, but I’ve been slacking recently! I am also a science-fiction obsessive by night; name a series and I’ve watched it! But like any other sane person would, it is a wise idea to not talk to me about the failure that is Star Trek – Deep Space Nine.

Natalie-Kym Vinnicombe

Business Development Manager

At work...

I started at Egress in September 2011 – in what was all a bit of a whirlwind. Within two weeks, I’d been interviewed, offered the job and moved from Somerset to start a life of data encryption in London. As a Business Development Manager, I spend quite a bit of time on the phones, ringing prospective customers to talk about the benefits of using Switch, as well as checking up on our clients to make sure everything’s running smoothly. My ‘desk time’ also involves researching influential factors for organisations looking to secure their data and changes to security policy.

However, I’m not always in the office. One of the best parts of my job involves going on site visits to new and existing customers. When I’m meeting with prospective clients, I spend a lot of my time listening to their requirements – as Switch is a very flexible platform, we can cater to our clients’ specific information security requirements. We’re also heavily involved with our existing customers, so when I’m in the neighbourhood, I’ll often pop in to check how they’re getting along using the product.

When I’m off duty...

I have quite an eclectic mix of hobbies! I love mountain climbing and scouring the Lakes – I’m determined to walk all 214 Wainwrights by the time I’m 40! When I’m indoors, I’ll probably be catching up with my friends. I’m also a bit of a Sci Fi Geek. I am a secret (or now not-so-secret) Trekkie and really love Battlestar Galactica... But I will never convert to the darkside – Star Wars just doesn’t do it for me, and it completely contrasts with my favourite film: The Notebook (gets me every time!). There’s also always a place for Disney films on my DVD shelf as well! In my down time, I spend a lot of hours in the bathtub (being from the coast, I feel at home in water) with a good book (my favourites are the Northern Lights Trilogy, Game of Thrones and Stephen King’s Gunslinger series).

Being a true Cornish girl, I love hanging out in the West Country (there is nothing like west country air in the lungs to kick start your day) – I’m a big fan of the humble Cornish pasty, believe there’s nothing better than Cornish ice cream, and would put Rodda’s Classic Cornish Clotted Cream on pretty much every dessert and sometimes on my breakfast...!

Neil Larkins

Chief Operating Officer

At work...

As one of the co-founders of Egress Software Technologies, I have been with the business since day one. Creating and developing the company with a great team of likeminded professionals has been a fantastic journey.

Over the last seven years, I have been involved in the strategic direction of the business, with particular responsibility for product management and software development. I spend much of my time on the ground, visiting potential customers and involved with product deployments for existing customers. This exposure has given me a unique insight into how customers want to use our software and helps us to understand the next product requirements, ensuring we are always at the cutting edge for data security.

I love everything about my role, and it has been extremely rewarding bringing so many new staff into the business at all levels and seeing their enthusiasm and skills contribute the company’s phenomenal growth.

When I’m off duty...

I am fanatical about food, and love cooking and eating out at new and different restaurants. I have been lucky enough to travel the world extensively, both with work and for leisure, and enjoy nothing more than visiting different and remote countries. I am a keen sports fan, and like watching and participating in many sports, particularly golf, tennis and football – I have even recently taken up kayaking. My other passion is cars. I ‘waste’ a fortune every year and am continually looking for the next upgrade...

Something you'd be surprised to learn...

In my previous business, I was made Director at the age of 24. I am also fanatical about DIY, and in my spare time have completely renovated our house!

Richard Green

Senior Project Manager

At work...

I joined Egress in October 2013, having previously worked closely with many of the Senior Management Team in previous businesses, namely Reflex, Pointsec and Check Point. The Directors invited me on board with Egress to help manage our high-profile clients, oversee our Development Team, and maintain our various certifications and accreditations.

Every Egress day is different and infinitely interesting as I’m very fortunate to interface with all company departments. Whether I’m updating our latest risk assessment, writing a new company policy, liaising with CESG about our Commercial Product Assurance (CPA) or Pan Government Accreditation (PGA \ G-Cloud), or managing our ISO 27001 certification, it’s never dull!

Egress is growing fast and I feel privileged to not only be a part of that growth, but to also be involved in our technical interviewing panel, helping to bring the best talent into our exciting and challenging business.

When I’m off duty...

A father of four, I love my family occupying most of my downtime. I also buy and sell online, having been an eBay PowerSeller in my child-free days! Photography is another passion, which has been a semi-professional activity for me the past few years, having captured numerous weddings, christenings, birthday parties and various other celebrations for many happy clients.
